The Bicycle Child Carrier
Child carriers are devices available that are of importance in transporting and carrying children. Such carriers are available in a lot of various forms. The most common types are the baby sling as well as the backpack type of carrier. Soft front or also referred to as hip carriers are widely utilized. Further, carriages, prams, and strollers are often used for children who belong to the toddler stage.
Tracing back the history of the bicycle carrier, it all started in the year 1733 when British William Kent developed the first pram. He was a gardener in England at that time. When Duke of Devonshire asked Kent to develop a device that could carry his children without hassle, he was able to build the pram through constructing a shell shaped basket on wheels that the Duke’s children can sit on. Since then, Kent became rich and famous for his work.
The West also became popular in the recent years when a lot of people were seen making use of carriers that were sling and backpack types. However, these types were thought to have originated in Egypt dating back to the time of Pharaohs. In the US, the Native Americans had their own version of child carriers. Theirs were referred to as cradle boards where children were wrapped to keep them safe and comfortable while allowing their mothers to freely work and travel. In the modern world, strollers are more commonly used than any type of child carrier.
Child carriers have been continuing to evolve and upgrade to ensure comfort, safety, stability, and efficiency to parents who badly need the device. And now a new kind of child carrier is available in the market and is said to be affordable. Bicycle child carriers, like any other carrier, are also designed to keep the children, infants or toddlers, safe and secure.
This time however, the said type of carrier guarantees its patrons that children can be protected from rough terrain. Some brands offer many features such as suspensions that can absorb shock making children have their most comfortable bicycle ride. Harnesses are also well placed so as to give safety for the young riders. Padded bars are also available in some brands for children to hold on and to add enjoyment to their riding experience.
The bicycle child carrier is indeed very beneficial to parents especially for those who are of the outgoing type. Whenever they desire to go to the park, beach, or just stroll around the neighborhood, this bike carrier is definitely for them to use! Mounting the carrier on the bike is also simple so parents would never have to worry again about pushing the strollers while they painstakingly walk when taking their children out. Fun is also ensured for the children because the carrier is of the sit-up type which allows them to see the beauty of the view whenever they are taken out by their lovely folks.
